Incoming Exchange Students

The University is committed to provide the best possible opportunities for students coming to LUMS from overseas. For these students, university-managed accommodation options are available which are safe, affordable and convenient. Priority is given to providing on-campus residence.

Fees for University accommodation are set in the Spring prior to the commencement of the academic session in September. The preferred method of paying is online payment as it ensures timely payment of fees. For online payment please visit: http://pay.lums.edu.pk/

Fee

Exchange students are exempted from paying tuition/registration fee at LUMS. This applies only to students belonging to the partner universities listed below.

Planning Studies

Overseas students should read the information provided in the ‘Incoming Exchange Students’ section of the website and ensure that their application is discussed comprehensively with their advisers at their home university, who will help them meet their application requirements and also provide advice about module selection and credit transfer as necessary.

Language Requirement

If a student has not completed his/her secondary studies in English or English is not their first language, an English language qualification is required to gain entry to LUMS. The two most commonly accepted English language qualifications are IELTS and TOEFL. Overseas students should provide proof of this with their application.

The application will be considered incomplete if the following documents have not been attached:

Latest Official Transcript
Nomination letter from the home university
Proof of English Proficiency
Physical Examination Certificate
Photocopy of Passport
4 Passport sized photographs

Courses

As exchange students are applying for courses not programmes, they have many choices and need to do careful research before making a selection by studying the LUMS course catalogue and getting advice and approval from advisers at their home university. Students are pre-enrolled for courses based on their application form, hence it is advisable to make the right selection.
