About the seminar
Understanding the logic of cellular differentiation and development is a major fundamental biology and health issue. In the group of Jean-Christophe Andrau, Dr. Maqbool is interested in the fate of T-cell differentiation at the epigenetic and transcriptional level. He has over several years of experience in high-throughput sequencing based protocols and data processing/analysis. This presentation will be focused on his project whereby he is trying to investigate the role of Heterochomatin Protein 1 (HP1) at the terminal stages of T-cell differentiation (T-helper and T-cytotoxic) as initial observations suggest that HP1 might be critical for T-lymphocyte differentiation and for chromatin plasticity. He is performing genome-wide ChIP-seq and RNA-seq experiments in various populations of mouse primary T-lymphocytes to analyse the dynamics of HP1, RNA Pol II and several histone marks in either a WT or in HP1 KO context.
