Abstract
There is a shortage of mathematicians and researchers to uplift the standard of scientific research and education in Pakistan. The Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences is the largest centre in Asia, which is running a PhD programme with the support of more than 35 foreign and active researchers in Mathematics. It is a different kind of school of mathematics and has produced PhDs in all fields of Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics. The purpose of Prof. ADR Choudary’s talk is to share his views on the future of research in Mathematics in Pakistan.
About the Speaker
Prof. ADR Choudary is working as the Director General of the Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, GCU, Lahore and Director of the National Centre for Mathematics which was established by HEC in 2003.
Before coming to Pakistan in 2003, Dr. Choudary served as Professor of Mathematics at the Central Washington University for more than 20 years and is now Professor of Emeritus at the same university.
