About the Workshop
Robot Operating System (ROS) is an open source meta-operating system in modern robotics, developed by Willow Garage, USA. It provides flexibility to robotics developers over hardware abstraction, message passing, libraries, re-usability of code, package management and more. Moreover, it provides an opportunity to connect with largely growing robotics community over the globe to share latest research and implementation in different areas of robotics.
CYPHYNETS and Multimedia Research Labs at LUMS Electrical Engineering are organising a half-day training of its members and collaborators in ROS. This tutorial will explain basic information of ROS, installation, structure, file system, concept and example implementation. This activity is a result of funding provided by the German Academic Exchange (DAAD) on robotics research at LUMS.
