"Epigenetic Analysis of Breast cancer: Role of Polycomb (PcG) and Trithorax (TrxG) group proteins in onset of Breast cancer"
Speaker: Noman Bin Abid, Lab Instructor
Date: June 18, 2012,
Time: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Venue: Smart Lab, CS, SSE Bulding, LUMS
Supervisor: Dr. Muhammad Tariq
About the Seminar
Polycomb (PcG) and (trithorax) group proteins are evolutionarily conserved and maintain chromatin in the ‘off’ or ‘on’ states, thereby preventing or promoting gene expression, respectively. Recent work highlights the dynamic interplay between these opposing classes of proteins, providing new avenues for understanding how these epigenetic regulators function in tumorigenesis. In this study we would like to analyse role of PcG and TrxG proteins in onset of breast cancer.
