Naveed Rehan

Dr. Naveed Rehan is Assistant Professor of English at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at LUMS. She holds a PhD in English and the Teaching of English from Idaho State University (2011) and an MA in Literary Theory from Montana State University (2004). She also holds an MA in French Language and Literature from the University of the Punjab (1993).
Naveed’s research interests include British modernism, literary theory and writing instruction, among others. Her PhD dissertation, entitled “Passionate Struggle into Conscious Being: D. H. Lawrence and Creative Nonfiction,” investigates the craft of writing through the nonfictional works of the modernist British writer D. H. Lawrence.
Naveed first taught at LUMS as a Teaching Fellow between 2004 and 2006. During this time, she developed and taught courses on D. H. Lawrence and the Realm of the Irrational; Hero(in)es Through the Ages: The French Novel from de Lafayette to Camus; Literary Feminisms: Key Voices since the 20th Century; Management Communications (co-taught with Dr. Shahid Siddiqui) and several courses on Freshman Composition. Since coming back to LUMS in August 2011, she has developed and taught courses in Early 20th Century British Fiction, Creative Nonfiction and Professional and Technical Writing.

Research Interests
Naveed’s research interests include modernism, creative nonfiction and language and writing instruction, especially for non-native speakers of English who are nevertheless fluent in the language.
