In an increasingly uncertain business environment, the task of managing has become more complex and demanding. The LUMS Executive MBA (EMBA), offered by the Suleman Dawood School of Business has been designed precisely to cater to this need.
The Executive MBA programme is designed for mid-career managers and entrepreneurs who are keen to take on greater challenges and make an impact on the productivity of their organizations. These individuals can leverage their rich work experience through a world-class management education program in the form of the LUMS Executive MBA.
The programme has been structured to enable busy managers to acquire management education while fulfilling regular professional responsibilities. It is spread over 20 months and involves a total of 16 weeks of full-time academic activity supplemented by distance learning.
The courses in EMBA have been carefully selected to provide both depth and breadth of a rigorous, world class management programme. While starting with fundamentals of each functional area, the courses will quickly ramp up to advanced levels in order to maximize learning of a group of highly experienced managers. Learning through the Case Method

The ‘Case Method’ emphasizes experiential learning through local and international cases. A case is based on an actual business situation. After reading it, an analysis of the situation is made and recommendations for its solution are proposed. Seldom do business executives face problems that are not impeded by external and internal problems. After sifting through all relevant information, decisions are made. The manager must then present a coherent strategy and action plan. Thus, the case method allows participants to learn the decision-making process in a dynamic, real-world environment.
The case study method of teaching places a premium on teaching materials and standards. Since 1986, over 400 cases have been developed focusing on the Pakistani business environment that help in developing the ‘local’ perspective of students.
