Internship Opportunity at the Office of Advocate General
To encourage professional growth and provide on-the-job training to students, the Department of Law and Policy has set up an internship programme in agreement with the Office of the Advocate General of Punjab. The internship programme is spread over a period of three months whereby, following an evaluation process, three students from the Department of Law and Policy will be invited to work as internees at the Office of the Advocate General of Punjab. The programme will commence from June 1, 2012 (during summer vacations).
The Office of the Advocate General was established in 1885 and is governed under Article 140 of the Constitution. This constitutional office primarily deals in litigation for and against the Province of Punjab before the Honourable High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan. This initiative is line with the keen interest of Ashtar Ausaf Ali, Advocate General, Punjab, in strengthening relations with the LUMS Department of Law and Policy to encourage the study of law in Pakistan. Dr. Ali Qazilbash, Chair Department of Law and Policy at LUMS played a key role in setting up this opportunity for students.
Interested students should contact Dr. Ali Qazilbash at firstname.lastname@example.org.
