New Documentary Video on the LUMS NOP Released
The latest documentary of National Outreach Programme (NOP) is now available on LUMS website. The documentary unwinds the journey of NOP which began in 2001 with the hope of creating equal academic opportunities for students all across Pakistan.
The NOP initiative seeks to open prospects for bright and talented students from lower income groups and smaller cities, villages and inner city areas of large urban centres, who are unable to meet the University's regular fee requirement. Students have to get into LUMS on merit and in addition to tuition, living costs are also covered.
The first batch of NOP in 2002, inducted a total of five students and now as years have gone by this number has fleshed out and now to date, NOP has a total of 464 scholars to its credit. With each passing year, this figure is expected to grow, which is not only encounraging for LUMS alone, but is also for those who aspire to be part of LUMS community.
Through NOP initiative, LUMS aspires to harness the full potential of the human resources of Pakistan by broadening the accessibility of its programmes across Pakistan.
