Dr. Abbas Presents Research at Imperial College, London
Dr. Mujahid Abbas, Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE), LUMS presented his recent research paper at the 2012 International Conference of Applied and Engineering Mathematics held on July 4 to 6, 2012 at the Imperial College, London. The Conference was organised by the International Association of Engineers.
The title of his paper was “Common Fixed Point Theorems for OWC Maps in Cone Symmetric Spaces.” It revolved around different commutative conditions leading to the existence of solution of simultaneous equations. Several fixed point theorems for a class of operators called occasionally weakly compatible maps defined on a cone symmetric space were discussed. The presented results are some of the most general common fixed point theorems for four maps. These results complement, extend and unify several well known comparable results in the existing literature on metric fixed point theory.
This research paper will also appear in a special issue of IAENG Journal and has been nominated for the best paper award competition.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) provided the funding to attend this conference.
