LUMS READS Launches Blog

A blog to accompany the LUMS READS Initiative has been launched and can be accessed here. It provides a space for students to discuss what they are reading and to present their writings for review and discussion. The blog will also carry announcements about events associated with the LUMS READS Initiative.
The first text to be read as part of the LUMS READS Initiative is Toba Tek Singh, a short story by Saadat Hasan Manto. Both Urdu and English texts of the story can be found here and a recording in the voice of Zia Moheyuddin is available on YouTube.
The first discussion session will consider the literary aspects of the story and the second will explore its political dimensions. The first discussion session will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 4:00 pm on the second floor of the LUMS Library Building.
