LUMS Seals a Deal with SAP

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) signed a contract with SAP – one of the largest enterprise software companies in the world – and their local partners, Excellence Delivered, on July 15, 2012. The deal has been sealed to improve the procedures of Finance, Procurement, Human Resource (HR) and Payroll systems using SAP software from 2013 onwards.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Adil Najam, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, stressed the value of this partnership, while emphasising to the project stakeholders the importance of ensuring the delivery goes according to plan, and the University’s core business activities continue to run smoothly during the implementation.

The new Financial and Procurement system will give LUMS’ users a simple, yet powerful interface to create requisitions, track purchases, monitor inventory and budgets in real-time, while providing accurate and updated business intelligence reporting to the Management. The new HR and Payroll system will provide LUMS employees and HR with a single solution to manage personnel records, professional development and training, performance appraisals, leave approvals and history, recruitment, payroll and benefits.

SAP is due to go live in the first quarter of 2013.
