A Week-long Break for LUMS Community Commences on July 23
The LUMS Management will be reviving a former practice of Summer Closure, this year, to give respite to its staff. The University will be closing for a week between July 23 and 27, 2012. The decision for closure comes with the aim to give its staff a well-deserved holiday between the peak work period that just ended and the next peak that begins in August as they prepare for the Fall semester.
The LUMS Library, PDC and other weekend services will also be closed the prior weekend (July 21-22). All regular staff except those providing essential duties will be off during these days and the University buildings will not be operational.
University services will resume on Saturday, July 28, as the LUMS management will welcome the 2012 NOP Coaching Session participants. Regular office will resume from Monday, July 30, 2012.
The LUMS VC Dr. Adil Najam, talking about the closure, said "Since this time period is likely to be the first week of a scorching summer Ramzan, I hope it will be a welcome rest for everyone. I urge everyone to spend quality time with family and loved ones so that we can all come back re-invigored, re-energized, and ready to move forth into another stellar year at LUMS!"
