LUMS Introduces MBA 2014 to Campus Life
Each year the University organises a Summer Orientation Programme (SOP) for the new MBA class to introduce them to life on campus. The orientation programme focuses on academics, the community, learning about the support services and resources available at LUMS.
The SOP for the fresh batch of 100+ MBA students commenced on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), LUMS. The programme started with a welcome note by the Dean of SDSB, Dr Arif Nazir Butt followed by a motivational speech by the Vice Chancellor, Dr Adil Najam. Later, Dr Muhammad Ghufran Ahmad, the MBA Programme Director conducted an interactive session with the new class to introduce them to the structure and curriculum of the MBA Programme and to familiarise them with the values and norms which the students are expected to follow throughout the duration of the programme.
This two-week, intensive orientation programme demands intense involvement of the students and covers a broad array of topics which prepares them for the rigorous yet exciting two years that lie ahead. These topics include, but are not limited to, the Case Method of Learning, Fundamentals of Financial Accounting, Business Statistics, Mathematics and Computers.
During SOP, students not only get a chance to meet the Pro Chancellor, Syed Babar Ali and Rector, Mr Abdul Razak Dawood but also the Executive Committee of the SDSB Alumni Association to benefit from their wisdom, experience and business acumen.
