Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB). We are a leading management school of Asia, especially distinguished as the pioneer of Case Method of Teaching in Pakistan, with over five hundred local cases written by our faculty. We have strived to bring about a constructive change in the academic and management practices in the region by motivating and enabling the best human resources to foster an innovative and progressive culture.

At SDSB, our vision is to be recognised for teaching and research excellence. Our academic programmes are designed to develop leaders who can identify real challenges, and solve important problems. We offer the most industry relevant graduate programmes that address pressing needs of today, and are constantly reinvented through the cutting edge research of our faculty. Our undergraduate programme grooms highly proficient accounting and finance majors. Our executive education and customised training programmes are highly sought after by the corporate and social development organisations. We give our graduates a global perspective and a definite advantage over any other B-School in the region.

Our academic resources, specifically the first purpose built B-School campus in Pakistan, ensures an environment conducive for learning. Our students come to us hoping for a change and we give them the tools not only to transform their personal and professional lives but also impact the practice of management in the industry.

Our research and executive development centres are complimented by the highly accomplished faculty who works to achieve our mission of generation, assimilation and dissemination of knowledge. With the largest gathering of PhDs in a business school in the nation, the research conducted by our faculty is widely acknowledged in the international scholarly circles and their contributions are published in well renowned journals, including our own Asian Case Research Journal. Our highly trained faculty provides wide ranging consultancies and policy advice both to the public and private sectors. This leads to the addition of several new cases to our curricula every year, developed in-house at the Case Research Centre. Through the ground breaking research conducted at the Strategic Sectors Research Centre in vital areas we stay relevant to the changing needs of the local and global economies. The Social Enterprise Development Centre and the Rausing Executive Development Centre extend our expertise to the industry, thus contributing to the human resource development of public, private, social and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sectors of the country.
