Management Trainees from Afghanistan Bank Visit LUMS

An eighteen-member team from Afghanistan International Bank (AIB), enrolled at National Institute of Banking & Finance (NIBAF), Islamabad visited Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on July 11, 2012.
The participating members included Management Trainee Officers working at AIB, who are currently enrolled at NIBAF for a six-month rigorous training programme. The programme has been designed to introduce the best banking practices prevalent in Pakistan. The visit to LUMS was part of the training, where they were introduced to the rigorous curriculum offered at LUMS.
On behalf of LUMS, Marketing & External Relations team welcomed them and they were briefed about LUMS and its offerings from all the schools of the University. They were also informed about LUMS differentiating factors which are Faculty, Students & Alumni, and International Linkages.
The visitors were also introduced to the LUMS’ National Outreach Programme (NOP). While explaining the philosophy behind NOP, it was shared that through this initiative, higher education will be made accessible for all, making merit the only yardstick for admissions. They were also shown the video on NOP initiative of LUMS.
Later, the team was given a tour of LUMS.
