What are the main subjects in A’ Levels in order to get admission in LUMS?
LUMS does not indicate any specific subject requirement for SDSB & SHSSL admissions; however, as per minimum eligibility criteria the requirements are 2 Bs and 1 C in three principal subjects such that there should be no more than 1 C grade or less than a C. For details on principal subjects you may consult British Council or CIE. No credit will be given for General Paper.
For the admission in SSE, applicants are required to take A’ Levels in at least 3 principal subjects (with at least 2 Bs and 1 C grade such that there should be no more than 1 C grade and no grade less than a C across three principal subjects in the A' Level examination). The principal subjects are Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics. No credit will be given for General Paper. Any deviations from this list would be examined on a case to case basis and the decision of the Admission Committee would be final.

No, every student is evaluated upon his/her grades regardless of the fact whether someone has taken the exam through a school/college or privately.
Is it possible to transfer credits from another university to LUMS?
Yes, LUMS does accept transfers from universities in Pakistan and abroad recognized by HEC Pakistan. For details on transfer you may contact Admission Office or visit the link http://www.lums.edu.pk/admissions/transfer-students.php
May students who are admitted defer enrollment to another year?
No. Attending the first semester at LUMS is compulsory and deferment is not an option.
When do application decisions become available?
All admission decisions are made by the UG Admissions Committee and are final. As a result of the committee’s consideration, some applicants are admitted, some are placed on a waiting list, and the remaining applicants are denied. Acceptances are offered on a “rolling” basis between April and June. For this reason, your admission decision may arrive at a different time from a friend or classmate.
How many recommendations may I submit?
We strongly encourage the applicants to submit at least two teacher evaluations; they will add substantial value to your application. Therefore, you may submit minimum two letters of recommendations.
