LUMS Join Hands with MOSIS
LUMS School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) has sealed a deal with the MOSIS, which is a low-cost prototyping and production volume service for VLSI circuit development.
According to the agreement that has been signed between Dr. Shahid Masud, Department Chair, Electrical Engineering, SBASSE LUMS and Prof Michael Quick, Executive Vice Provost, University of Southern California, LUMS students/researchers will now have access to the world's leading foundries of International Business Machines (IBM) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for VLSI Chip fabrication. The service is managed by the University of Southern California, USA.
With this latest development, LUMS is going to benefit a great deal as MOSIS has been serving the industry since 1981, with more than 50,000 circuit designs for commercial firms, government agencies, and research and educational institutions around the world, to its credit.
