History
The Mathematics Department at LUMS was founded in 2000. In 2001, the department started offering the undergraduate programme in Mathematics. In line with the objectives of the BSc (Honours) curriculum, the mathematics undergraduate programme imparts a broad-based education of international standard.
The department started offering a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2001. This programme has produced 4 PhDs as of 2011.
