LUMS Hosts Interactive Donor-Student Session for DHA Scholarship Fund Recipients

An interactive donor-student session at LUMS brought together donors and recipients of the DHA Scholarship Fund on May 09, 2024. The Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Lahore signed an MoU with LUMS in 2023 to support the National Outreach Programme (NOP). The session aimed to develop a meaningful connection between the donor, and the scholarship beneficiaries, providing an avenue for valuable mentorship opportunities.

Senior executives from DHA, including Colonel Ahsan Ahmad Khan, Director HR, and Major Abdur Rehman Khurram Butt, Deputy Director HR, were welcomed by Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement, and Mr. Anas Ashraf Ali, Head of Development, Office of Advancement.

Colonel Ahsan Ahmad Khan commented on the commendable quality of LUMS graduates, saying, "I have personally witnessed the remarkable development and confidence of LUMS graduates. It is integral for students to possess such strength and self-assurance, as it not only shapes their academic journey but also prepares them for the challenges of the professional world. LUMS plays a pivotal role in nurturing this development, allowing students to focus on their studies and personal growth without worrying about the financial burden."

Major Abdur Rehman Khurram Butt highlighted LUMS student advising process, stating, "The holistic approach to student advising is what differentiates LUMS from other universities and contributes significantly to the success of its students. The guidance process is very thorough and extensive, ensuring that students receive the support that is needed to excel."

The scholarship recipients appreciated DHA, Lahore for its vision and passion for educating the youth. While sharing the challenges they faced during their academic journeys, the students also shared their future career plans post-graduation. They acknowledged LUMS as a guiding source and a pathway to their success. The session concluded with a networking lunch between the attendees.
