REDC Conducts Programme on Leading Through Stressful Times
The Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) conducted a customised programme, ‘Leading through Stressful Times’ for MOL Pakistan from December 17 - 18, 2020.
Directed by Dr. Arif Nazir Butt and Dr. Zain ul Abdin Khawaja, and supported in teaching by Dr. Adnan Zahid, the programme is a pioneer in this area and created unique learning opportunities for both MOL Pakistan and LUMS.
Instructors of the programme emphasised on the need to embrace changing business realities in context of the new normal; and how business leaders can sustain both people and performance through these challenging times.
“Since it was my first experience with LUMS and that too online, I was sceptical. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality as well as overall standard of the programme. In addition, the course customisation was brilliant. Keep it up!” remarked Syed Ali Mardan, Production Operations Manager.
During the 2-day engagement, senior executives learned about team management and leadership in stressful situations, personal effectiveness, comparative analysis of cultural and communication conflict, implementation of stress management frameworks, as well as, the relation between stress, culture and communication.
Programme participants appreciated the faculty’s area of expertise and ability to impart knowledge. “The course was well-coordinated and organised according to the organisation’s needs with case studies and videos. While a physical session provides more chance of social interaction and effective learning, under the COVID pandemic, it was a good alternative. Overall, a well-structured and systematic course with excellent delivery,” commented, Naseem Qamar, Head SD and HSE.
Interactive discussions and intellectually stimulating case studies enhanced participants’ learning and provided a platform for them to explore key leadership concepts through practical examples. It also presented a unique and dynamic opportunity for a transformational learning experience.
