BSc Class of 2017 Renews Support for LUMS
Established in 2021, the ‘BSc Class of 2017 Scholarship Fund’ has been renewed with a generous donation that will sponsor the education of one NOP scholar for the entire duration of his/her degree.
Speaking about the motivation behind the fund, one of the fund representatives Shahryar Tariq said, “We realised that there’s a huge community of alumni, especially from the Class of 2017, that has benefited from having gone through the experience of quality education at LUMS and has every reason to give back to the community. The NOP itself feels incredibly special to contribute to since it empowers financially underprivileged students to access a world-class education. Education is transformative, and it gives us incredible joy that through this Class Fund, we’re able to extend this life-changing experience to one more person.”
Other fund representatives include Irtiza Haider, Abdullah Siddique, Mobeen Tariq, Muhammad Qamar Farooq, Abdul Lateef Haamid and Mohammad Haseeb.
Initiated in 2001, the NOP furthers the University’s longstanding vision of providing premium education to talented students across the country, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Programme won the Global Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Platinum Award 2021 in the ‘Best Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ category. The CASE Platinum Awards recognise world-class programmes and practices in educational advancement.
