About the Speaker
Prof. Aamer Iqbal Bhatti received his Masters in Control Systems from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London in 1994. Later on, he moved to Leicester University, where he graduated with a PhD in Control Engineering in 1998. In 1999, Prof. Bhatti returned to Pakistan and started working for the aerospace industry, mainly working in the field of aerospace controls.

During his tenure, he worked on Nonlinear Simulations of Air Vehicles, System Identification, and Controller Design for Aerospace Vehicles and also on Data Acquisition Experiments Design. He moved on to Enabling Technologies, Islamabad in 2001. He was also the Founding Head of Electrical Engineering Department at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE). Currently, he is a Professor of DSP and Control Systems at the Department of Electrical Engineering, CUST, Islamabad Campus, where he founded a 30 member strong DSP and Control Systems Research ( Group in 2007. He is the founding chair of IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS), Pakistan Chapter, which was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Award at IEEE CDC 2014 in Los Angeles, USA.
