Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra - Educationist, Public Intellectual, Culture Expert, Gender Specialist, Human Rights Activist and Social Nationalist
Dr. Zehra has gained a prominent position in society due to her exemplary work. Her achievements are attributed to her skills to articulate her intellect powered by her conviction, dedication and leadership quality for education, culture and human rights, especially for women. Among her, many achievements, her role as Chairperson, National Commission on Status of Women, Pakistan, contribution to promotion of the arts, especially literature, and guiding young students are most cherished to her. She has many national and international awards. Dr. Zehra was honoured as a Fellow of National College of Arts, Lahore.
Dr. Khurshid Rizvi - Writer, Poet and Scholar
Dr. Rizvi is a multifaceted scholar of oriental languages who possesses equal dexterity in Arabic, Persian, Urdu and English and is well-versed in Punjabi. He ranks highly amongst the Urdu poets, researchers and men of letters in the country. In recognition of his literary services, Dr. Khurshid Rizvi was decorated with one of the highest civilian awards; Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 2008. These days he is largely associated with the prestigious Government College University, Lahore as a Professor Emeritus/ Distinguished Professor. Dr. Rizvi has also been a member of the esteemed Arabic Language Authority, Cairo, Egypt. He has also been awarded Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi Award 2005, Ahmad Faraz Literary Award 2012, Khalid Ahmad Award 2013, U.B.L Literary Excellence Award (Urdu Poetry) 2013 and Majlis-e- Farogh-e-Urdu Adab, Doha, Qatar's Award 2015.
Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyar - Writer, Critic, Columnist and Essayist and Adjunct Faculty Member, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, LUMS
Dr. Nayyar is a scholar, author, and short story writer. He was the former Director General of the Urdu Science Board, Lahore and is currently, Associate Professor of Urdu at the Punjab University, Lahore. Dr. Nayyar’s research interests include modern and postmodern literary theory, linguistics, modern Urdu literature, and post colonialism. He is the author of award-winning books such as Urdu Adab ki Tashkeel e Jadid that won the best Urdu Book Prize, KLF 2017 and Baba-e-Urdu Maulvi Abdul Haq Award 2016 for Urdu prose from the Pakistan Academy of Letters. Another of his books, Us Ko Ik Shakhs Samjhna to Munasib hi Nahi, was awarded the UBL Literary Prize for the best Urdu book in the nonfiction category in 2019. His book Nazm Kaisay Parhain (How to read poem) is first of its kind in Urdu. Rakh Say Likhi Gai Kitab is his third collection of short stories. He regularly writes on literary issues in The News and occasionally in Dawn.
