Profiles of Panelists
Mr. Deepak Perwani, Designer and Actor
Mr. Perwani is not just a designer but an icon. He is one of the well-reputed and dazzling fashion designers of Pakistan and has led the country’s industry and taken it to great heights. He is mostly famous for designing Men’s attire. His noteworthy achievement includes his entry into “Guinness Book of World Records”, as he created “The World’s largest Kurta” that was about 101 feet tall and 59 feet 3 inches wide and this achievement was accomplished in year 2007.
Ms. Sahar Atif, Fashion Designer
Ms. Sahar Atif has a unique academic background with a degree both in Fashion from Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PFID) and EMBA from LUMS. She has served both as a visiting faculty at PIFD and Lifetime Learning at LUMS. With extensive experience in the fashion retail industry, she leads the Stylo clothing division at the moment. Ms. Atif also launched Pareesa for Chenone and has her own brand by the name of Sahar Atif. She has vast experience working in the craft sector and serves on the board of Daachi Foundation.
Professor Hina Tayyaba Khalil, Vice Chancellor, Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD)
Professor Khalil have been associated with PIFD since its inception and had the opportunity of working with its founding members. She has enjoyed working with the Government, who has always supported PIFD and helped in building the institution and bringing it to where it is today. During her tenure, Pakistan School of Fashion Design (PSFD) transformed into Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) Federal Degree Awarding Institute. In recognition to her services to the industry, Federal Chartered Ministry of Culture and Communication, French Republic awarded her Le grade de chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
