Mehr is a data enthusiast with academic training in Data Science and Econometrics. After graduating from LUMS with a degree in Economics and Politics, she attended Carnegie Mellon University as a Fulbright Scholar for a Master’s in Data Analytics and Public Policy. In her professional experience, she combines her background in humanities and social sciences with her analytics skillset to interpret data with a human lens and develop interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving.
Her focus areas of specialization include Data Analysis, Data Visualisation, Machine Learning, Behavioural Economics, and Consumer Research. Her domain expertise lies in transport tech, food policy, and education policy.
Mehr has previously worked in the public sector, where she co-authored a chapter titled "Understanding Disability and the Path to Inclusive Education in Pakistan" in the 2019 Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) and led trainings to empower research professionals with an analytics skillset. After her experience in the public sector, she has switched to the Transportation Tech industry and is currently working as a Data Scientist in one of the Middle East’s fastest growing tech start-ups.
She will be offering the course "Telling Stories with Data" in the Fall 2021 semester; An applied course intended to help students develop proficiency with handling large amounts of data, and drawing meaningful insights that make the data informative for their intended audience.
