Mr. Malik has a master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore with the thesis focus on torrefaction and pelletization of biomass for energy production. He also has a bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Prior to joining LUMS, he has been academically engaged at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) in Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering.
Mr. Malik's research mainly focuses on treating raw biomass through chemical and thermal techniques to increase its energy content and reduce volumetric density. Apart from this, he also works to enhance the energy efficiency of gas-consuming units.
Mr. Malik has also been very much involved in engineering entrepreneurship and has several achievements attached to him. He represented Pakistan at Expo 2017 Astana and participated in two editions of Global Entrepreneurship Summit one at Silicon Valley USA 2016 and others at The Hague Netherlands 2019.
