The Social Enterprise Development Centre (SEDC) at LUMS continues to engage with international networks in the field of gender and development. On August 11, 2016, Dr. Ghazal Zulfiqar, Director SEDC gave a talk at the Consortium on Gender, Security and Human Rights (CGSHR), University of Massachusetts Boston. During her talk Dr. Zulfiqar shared her insights on microcredit, the feminist labour movement and policy activism in Pakistan.

The CGSHR founded in 2002, is internationally renowned for bringing together scholars, senior practitioners and activists from across the globe. It aims to integrate the study of gender and of women into research on human rights, security, and armed conflict. Since its founding, the Consortium has developed partnerships and collaborations in different parts of the world and has worked with researchers, policymakers and practitioners, and civil society activists around the world. Dr. Zulfiqar is involved with the Consortium’s work on building a feminist roadmap for sustainable peace as part of a cross-country panel of experts.
