Message from the Dean
At the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), we continue to push the boundaries of what business education can achieve. In a world defined by uncertainty and rapid change, we remain focused on preparing our students to lead with purpose, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to society.
This commitment is anchored in three pillars: transformative learning, impactful research, and deep societal engagement.
We are proud to be Pakistan’s first business school accredited by AACSB International. This recognition reflects our uncompromising focus on quality, innovation, and relevance. Over the past academic year, our faculty have actively contributed to global knowledge through research, case writing, and collaborations with international institutions. Their work continues to shape classrooms not only at LUMS but also in business schools around the world. The development of locally grounded case studies, some of which feature on the Harvard Business Publishing platform, further extend our impact to educators around the world.
SDSB students have once again demonstrated excellence - inside and outside the classroom. From exchange programmes and competitive placements to international case competitions and speaker engagements, they continue to uphold the highest standards. A proud highlight this year was our students winning the Pakistan title at the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024–25, underscoring our commitment to analytical thinking and practical learning.
Our SDSB Speaker Series continues to bring leading voices from business, policy, and entrepreneurship into conversations with our students and faculty. Meanwhile, our Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) and Centre for Business and Society (CBS) are expanding our reach - connecting with senior professionals, advancing social impact, and strengthening the bridge between academia and the real world.
This report presents a snapshot of our achievements during the 2024–25 academic year and reflects the energy, dedication, and ambition that define SDSB.
To our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders - thank you for your continued trust and commitment. Together, we are building not just a business school, but a learning community that is shaping the future of leadership, business, and society.
Dr. Fazal Jawad Seyyed
Abdul Razak Dawood Chair and Dean,
Suleman Dawood School of Business
