Asad is the Associate Dean for Rausing Executive Development Center (REDC) at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), LUMS. With over twenty years of experience across academia, consulting, and entrepreneurship, he brings a unique blend of scholarly insight and practical expertise to his leadership role.

Since joining SDSB in 2004 as an Associate Professor, Mr. Alam has played a pivotal role in shaping the learning journeys of thousands of students and professionals. His teaching spans the MBA, Executive MBA, MS, and undergraduate programs, where he focuses on financial accounting, entrepreneurial finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business valuation. Known for his engaging teaching style and emphasis on real-world application, he is widely recognized as one of LUMS’ most respected educators.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA – Wisconsin, USA), Mr. Alam holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before joining academia, he began his career in the United States as an auditor, working across diverse industries and gaining valuable practical experience. Over the years, he has also led numerous consulting and capacity-building projects with prominent organizations, including USAID, UNICEF, Nestlé, Coca-Cola Beverages, and the Government of Pakistan. His work has focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship development, public-sector finance, and executive training.

Mr. Alam has been closely associated with the Rausing Executive Development Center (REDC) at LUMS for more than fifteen years. During this time, he has designed and delivered executive programs for leaders from the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors. He has also held several strategic positions at LUMS, including Director of the Executive MBA Program, Director of the Accounting & Finance Program, and Director of the Entrepreneurship & SME Centre.

Beyond academia, Mr. Alam is an entrepreneur at heart. He co-founded Saadia Textile (NOOR), a fashion venture that achieved both national and international recognition, expanding to markets in the UK, USA, UAE, India, and Bangladesh. This experience gives him a rare dual perspective as both a scholar and practitioner—one that deeply informs his teaching, research, and leadership in executive education.

As Associate Dean, Mr. Alam is committed to advancing the reach and impact of executive education in Pakistan and beyond. His vision focuses on expanding partnerships with industry, strengthening global collaborations, and creating innovative programs that prepare leaders to navigate an ever-evolving business landscape.
