Zehra is Assistant Professor, Operations and IT Group, Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB).

Research Interests:

Project Management, Facilities Management, Public Sector Procurement, Public-Private-Partnerships, Urban Waste, Sustainable Water, Knowledge Management

 Zehra’s prior research focused on the interplay between facilities and their end-users and how each transforms the other. Her current research focuses on urban waste management systems in Pakistan, the existence of informal waste networks and knowledge sharing that leads towards integrated urban waste management systems. Another stream of research explores water governance systems in urban centers in Pakistan and the development of appropriate business cases for responsible water use. The two streams come together within the study of urban ecosystem of the city of Lahore. She sees herself as an empiricist and primarily undertakes qualitative research.

 Zehra is the Book Review Editor at Facilities, the world-leading journal in the field of Facilities Management. She is a member of the International Council for Building (CIB), the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and the Academy of Management (AOM). She is also an Advanced Specialist for Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) and a member of the International Water Association (IWA). She is also an Associate of LUMS’ Centre of Water, Informatics and Technology (WIT). She has published in leading journals in Facilities Management, presented work at leading international conferences, developed technical notes, cases and conducted consultancy work for the Punjab Skills Development Fund. She regularly reviews for world-leading journals and conferences.

 She sees her greatest forte to be her passion for teaching. She has taught undergraduate, EMBA and MBA modules covering IT, Principles of Management, Project Management, New Product Development and Qualitative Research at SDSB and numerous executive programs at LUMS’ Rausing Executive Education Centre (REDC). Her areas of executive teaching include Public Sector Project Management, Project Management and Public Sector Procurement. She has been the Program Director of various organization-focused programs at REDC including those developed for MOL Pakistan, The UNHCR’s Refugee Affected and Housing Areas (RAHA) Program, Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO). Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), the Government of Baluchistan, and a suite of programs for the Punjab Resource Management Program (PRMP). She continues to engage with the industry at various forums and develop new teaching cases in the above areas.
