Eeman Shahzad Qureshi is a Teaching Fellow at the CNM Economics Department at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). With an academic background in Economics and Development Management from London School of Economics (LSE) and LUMS, she brings a deep understanding of macroeconomic policy, gender labor markets, and development theory to her work.

Her research centers on critical issues such as land rights, gender empowerment, economic development, and the potential introduction of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in Pakistan. Collaborating with institutions like the World Bank and the International Growth Centre, she contributes to impactful projects in these areas. In addition to her research, she teaches courses on macroeconomics, macroeconomic forecasting, and data analysis, where she empowers her students with hands-on expertise in advanced tools such as STATA, EVIEWS, and Dynare.

Moreover, Eeman has also led policy discussions through the #FridayEconomist series at the Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre and contributes regularly to Dawn. She has published extensively on pressing economic issues, including microfinance, e-commerce, mobile wallets and the role of CBDC in Pakistan’s financial ecosystem.

Eeman is also actively involved in training and capacity-building initiatives related to gender-based violence, working with legal professionals and law enforcement in Pakistan. Her work bridges the gap between economic theory and real-world policy impact, with a focus on gender empowerment, sustainable development, and financial innovation.
