LUMS Live Session 82: Income Inequality under COVID-19
COVID-19 has had massive global cross-sectoral impacts but not all have suffered equally, leading to an unequal pattern of recovery from the pandemic. As suffering and poverty have risen, data shows an increase in another extreme: the wealth of billionaires. The distinguished panel discuss the unequal incomes and some of the health consequences of the pandemic that are evident but lead to relatively less obvious developmental impacts that indicate a larger long-term threat to inequality.
Hosted in collaboration with the Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre (MHRC), Consortium for Development Policy Research (CDPR), International Growth Centre (IGC), Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) and Saida Waheed Gender Initiative (SWGI), the session was moderated by Dr. Hadia Majid
