Subject: New Beginnings
Dear Colleagues,
A quick note of appreciation for your extraordinary efforts to transition to online teaching and demonstrating the extra care you are taking for your students.
For many students, it is becoming clear that workload appears to have significantly increased at home alongside chores and responsibilities with family, which was anticipated. Similarly, we are continuing to sort out connectivity issues.
The Deans have encouraged you to collect information including attendance, accessibility as well examples of other challenges and successes. In a few weeks, a short questionnaire will be sent to collect this information.
This will be enormously helpful not only to satisfy HEC’s intention to audit institutional abilities to teach online, but to also achieve our own learning outcomes. We are confident that collectively LUMS will not only exceed compliance requirements, but will set national standards for others to follow.
It’s been two days that mark a new beginning for LUMS. You are making each day count and your actions set the bar for the rest of the summer and the fall where many of your interventions will endure. We wish you the best during the remainder of this semester.
Take extra care
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Arshad Ahmad
