Our Founder
Syed Baber Ali
A renowned figure figure in the business community, Syed Baber Ali (SBA) has been the guiding spirit behind the University. Recognising the dearth of quality management education in Pakistan, SBA had the vision to create world-class university that would impart top-quality education, without any social or financial barriers to the brilliant minds of the country and the region.
His founding values of commitment to excellence and merit based approach still steer the university today. As Founding Pro Chancellor, Syed Baber Ali is often found on campus interacting with students, staff and faculty during events, conferences and panel discussion.

Dr. Sikander Ahmad Shah presented on Pakistan’s peacebuilding initiatives—including Saiban-e-Pakistan and Paigham-e-Pakistan—in the context of religious freedom and interfaith harmony at the 32nd Annual International Law & Religion Symposium held at Brigham Young University, Utah. He also delivered a lecture series at Cornell Law School under the Clarke Initiative for Law and Development, sharing insights from his newly published book Federalist Solution to Pakistan’s Political Crisis (Lexington Books, 2024). In addition, he addressed a distinguished audience at the Institute of Regional Studies, Islamabad, speaking on Human Rights, Business, and Faith. More recently, Dr. Sikander Ahmad Shah’s book chapter, “Universities and UNHCR: Teaching International Refugee Law in Pakistan,” has been published in an edited academic volume on international refugee law and norm diffusion by Brill Publishers (2025). The chapter examines how international refugee law is taught and researched in Pakistan, focusing on collaborations between United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and leading universities such as Lahore University of Management Sciences and National Defence University, while highlighting the need for deeper critical and contextual engagement with refugee protection norms in Pakistan.
