LUMS National Outreach Programme Goes to Bahawalpur
Every year, the National Outreach Programme (NOP) Centre plans its annual outreach to seek bright yet underprivileged students across Pakistan and promote the message of higher education. The NOP is a world-class, award-winning programme at LUMS. It won the global Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Platinum Award 2021 in the ‘Best Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ category. The CASE Platinum Awards recognise world-class programmes and practices in educational advancement.
The NOP team visited Bahawalpur and neighboring areas in the South Punjab region to inform students of the NOP scholarship and briefed them on the various facilities offered at LUMS. During their stay, informative sessions were conducted in various public and private institutes. Motivational sessions were also conducted for the students from arts and commerce backgrounds.
Furthermore, the team also travelled to Alipur, Sadiqabad, and Rahim Yar Khan, to spread knowledge about various disciplines offered at LUMS. They emphasised on the plentiful opportunities available to students enrolled at LUMS and motivated them to become a part of such a prestigious institution. The outreach trip was a success, as the educational establishments, educators, and students showed great enthusiasm for the NOP and LUMS.
The positive response is a motivating factor for the NOP team to conduct similar trips in the future.
