“On behalf of SDSB, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to both for this recognition of their scholarly contributions. These accolades further enhance the global profile and impact of both SDSB and LUMS,” said Dr. Fazal Jawad Seyyed, Abdul Razak Dawood Chair and Dean, SDSB, on the prestigious achievement.
Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists List is an esteemed ranking that identifies the most cited scholars in their fields. This list, derived from Scopus data provided by Elsevier, highlights researchers whose work has had a significant impact across various scientific disciplines. The list encompasses researchers across 20+ diverse fields. Researchers are categorised into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields based on the standard Science-Metrix classification. The selection process is extremely extensive, fair, and transparent. It involves two key steps: an initial selection of top 100,000 scientists, and their subsequent inclusion based on the top 2% percentile of their sub-field. It ensures a check on fair representation across disciplines, as citation patterns vary significantly between fields.
