Virtual Recruitment Drive by Tapal Tea (Pvt.) Ltd.
Tapal Tea (Pvt.) Ltd. conducted a virtual recruitment drive via google meet on April 29, 2021 for BS Management Science, Computer Science, Accounting & Finance and Economics students, graduating in 2022. The session was attended by 96 students.
Mr. Muhammad Ehtisham Khan, Talent & OD, Human Resources, Tapal Tea, initiated the session with a brief introduction of himself and shared the agenda of the session. He gave an introduction of the company and their history, stating that Tapal Tea is a Pakistani tea company based in Karachi, that has been in business since 1947 and is currently the market leader in Pakistan. The company is known for their famous tea brands i.e. Family Mixture, Danedar, Taizdum and Mezban, to name a few. He said that the classic Tapal flavor is an art, and has been handed down from one generation to another. Mr. Khan also shared short videos for visual representation of the brand and their long history. He highlighted brand values, and discussed office locations as well.
Later, Ms. Amna Maniar, Assistant Brand Manager and LUMS Alumni was invited to share her experience at Tapal. She emphasised the inclusivity of the culture at Tapal Tea, and said that the people at the company are all very kind, and give you a chance to learn and grow.
Moving on with the agenda, Mr. Samar Hayat, CEO of Tapal Tea and LUMS Alumni, joined the session. He shared that Tapal is one of the leading company in the biggest category of Pakistan. It is now located in 8 regions of Pakistan, and is a very powerful business. He also talked about company’s sales and growth, and highlighted their culture as well. He said they have culture based on respect, doing your own thing-- it is driven by performance and collaboration. This culture of interdependency brings out the best in everyone.
About Internship Programme, Mr. Hayat mentioned that they want individuals who have a powerful drive for winning and can do better than others. He also shared few tips with the students that will help them in achieving their goals.
Later Ms. Amra Mubashir, General Manager, Human Resources, Tapal Tea, talked about the necessary skills that students should learn. She guided them about the perception and the reality of road of success. She emphasised on keeping the spirit high and seeking help from mentors in order to find the right path.
In the end, Mr. Khan shared details of their Summer Internship Programme and the eligibility criteria followed by the detailed recruitment process.
The session then concluded with an interactive QnA session.
