Scholarship Fund Established in Memory of Late Malik Anwar Ali Noon

To support the education of one female scholar for the entire duration of her undergraduate degree at LUMS, the family of late Malik Anwar Noon has established a scholarship fund in his memory. Malik Anwar Ali Noon was a well-respected landlord and veteran politician who served twice as a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He was involved in drafting the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan and was also a winner of the Hilal-e-Istaqlal, conferred in recognition of his services during the 1965 War. This scholarship fund has been initiated by his grandchildren and will be directed towards the National Outreach Programme (NOP).

The National Outreach Programme is the global winner of the prestigious Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Platinum Award 2021 in the ‘Best Practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’. Representing the Asia-Pacific region in the international round of this competition, this recognition is proof of the Programme’s embodiment of the core principles of diversity, inclusion and accessibility.

The NOP offers up to 140% scholarship, which covers tuition, books, living stipends, and lodging. Annually, the NOP, reaches out to over 12,000 potential applicants across Pakistan. To date, over 850 NOP scholars have graduated.

It honours our dear grandfather and is our humble contribution towards this noble cause. The success story of the NOP is phenomenal. It has truly transformed the lives of hundreds of students who would otherwise have not been able to benefit from this outstanding experience,” said Ambreen Noon Kazi, who is managing the scholarship on behalf of the Noon family.
