About the speaker
Omer Saleem (EMBA 2017), the founder of The Drakken School. Omer is an equestrian, who is well-known in the sport of horseback archery. He is the first ever Pakistani to have been awarded the colour for horseback archery and is the first athlete to represent Pakistan at the 16th Horseback Archery Championship in 2021. He is also the official representative of the World Horseback Archery Federation (WHAF) in Pakistan. Being a true equestrian, Omer has also participated in national level competitions for the sports of Tent Pegging and Endurance Riding. He runs an equestrian club, Drakken Shahsawars, where he trains a selected group of passionate individuals.
In addition to being a sportsman, he is one of the oldest Egyptian Arabian horse breeders in the country (since 2011) and runs his own facility that is well recognised by the name of Al Saleem Arabians.
Alongside Equestrian sports and Arab horse breeding, Omer has made contributions to the education sector and is the founding director of Drakken, which now has around 500 students. While the school in itself is an old-school disciplinarian institute founded on the lines of his alma mater, Cadet College Hasanabdal, having a unique blend of Cambridge education, sports and basics of religion, the style of teaching is participative, engaging and based on his learning and experience at LUMS.
Join the chat with Omer as he shares his story of sport and education and reflects on the passion behind his journey.
