With over five decades of experience in engineering and dispute resolution, Dr. Romano Allione will discuss the evolving complexities of large-scale infrastructure projects and the critical role of arbitration and contract management. A seasoned electrotechnical engineer and FIDIC adjudicator, he will explore the practical and legal challenges faced by engineers and project managers, ranging from electromechanical works to delay management, and will discuss the growing importance of Dispute Boards, FIDIC procedures, and structured conflict resolution in global infrastructure delivery.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Romano Allione is an electrotechnical engineer with extensive expertise in hydropower, infrastructure, and dispute resolution. A graduate of Milan Polytechnic, he has held leadership roles in major international projects, including serving as Deputy General Manager and Director at Impregilo S.p.A. He is a charter member and former president of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF) and a recognised FIDIC adjudicator, specialising in contract, claims, and delay management, which he also teaches at Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino. In Pakistan, Dr. Allione has played key roles in hydropower projects serving as the Site Project Manager for Tarbela Dam.
