In this episode, we are joined by Ali Farid Khwaja (BSc 2003), Chairman of KTrade, Pakistan’s leading stock trading platform. Over the past two decades, Ali has led, invested in, and raised funds for some of Europe’s top tech companies. His previous roles include Partner at Autonomous Research in London and CFO of SafeCharge, which was listed on the London Stock Exchange and acquired for $900 million. Recognised as a top analyst by AsiaMoney, TIM, Thomson Reuters, and CFA Society, Ali has made significant contributions through his work at KTrade, UBS, and Berenberg. He also founded KTrade Saudi, focusing on financial education for Saudi stocks. Additionally, he is involved with the Future Investment Initiative, the Saudi British Joint Chamber of Commerce, and the Arab British Chamber of Commerce.
At LUMS, Ali completed a BSc in Computer Science and Economics (Double Major) with a minor in Mathematics. He was President of the LUMS Economics Society and General Secretary of IEEE. After earning his Master’s in Economics from LUMS, he pursued a second Master’s degree at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
Ali is also a Foundation Council member of NIC LUMS and President of the LUMS UK Alumni Chapter. He serves on the Advisory Boards of KASB Institute of Technology, Hamdard University (Finance Committee), Aspen Digital (HK), and is a consultant for Stacks.
