LUMS’ Significant Rise in QS World University Rankings 2024
This year LUMS has risen over 100 places to reach the #540th position in the QS World University Rankings 2024! With this new ranking, LUMS is placed among the top 36%, out of the 2,963 evaluated institutions from 104 locations across the world.
In last year’s ratings, LUMS was ranked 601-650; the 2024 ranking is a clear indicator that the University is continuously gaining global prominence. According to the 2024 edition, Employer Reputation was the strongest performance indicator for LUMS.
In the domestic evaluations, out of the 14 institutions evaluated, LUMS was top ranked for Employment Outcomes and number 2 for Employer Reputation. It ranks number 3 for Academic Reputation and number 1 for International Faculty.
QS also categorised that LUMS places high importance on research intensity, with a comprehensive subject area focus. This is in line with the vision of LUMS which is to become Pakistan’s leading research-intensive university, excelling in teaching and driven by a philosophy of learning without borders.
In the 2023 rankings, LUMS was placed at number 1 in Pakistan in Business and Management Studies, moving up significantly in the subject area ranking. Currently, it is placed in the top 200 (151-200). QS also ranked LUMS in the Accounting and Finance subject area with a global ranking of 151-200. The LUMS Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB)’s MBA is ranked among the top 34 MBA programmes in Asia and the top 201+ in the world. From Pakistan, SDSB is the only school ranked in the QS Global MBA Rankings.
QS or Quacquarelli Symonds University Rankings assess universities from around the world according to different criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, citations per faculty, ratio of international faculty members and ratio of international students. This year new criteria have been added—sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research network.
