QS Recognises LUMS’ Commitment Towards Employer Reputation and Diversity of Faculty

For the past three decades, LUMS has been a leading institution in Pakistan, maintaining a comprehensive focus on educational excellence and research. Despite being a comparatively small university in terms of faculty and student count in the country, LUMS competes effectively in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings carving out a distinct niche for itself. The University has consistently improved across four key categories: employer reputation, which assesses how employers perceive its graduates; international faculty, reflecting the diversity and expertise of its teaching staff; academic reputation, indicating its global academic standing and research output; and employment outcomes, measuring the success of its graduates in securing jobs and career advancement. Notably, LUMS achieved top rankings for employer reputation in the QS World University Ranking (QSWUR) 2025, and for international faculty in 2024 and 2025, respectively. This speaks to the high quality of its faculty.

LUMS’ reputation boosts alumni engagement, ensuring graduates remain connected to their alma mater. Moreover, it has facilitated securing of research funding and promoting innovation as well as getting funding for scholarships and improved infrastructure.

Quacquarelli Symonds, United Kingdom, in collaboration with the University of Lahore, recently hosted a seminar titled “QS Insights for Pakistani Universities and QSWUR Award Ceremony” on July 10, 2024, at the University of Lahore. This event served as a platform to explore best practices in higher education and celebrate achievements in academia. Discussions revolved around enhancing Pakistan’s regional and global educational landscape, highlighting the desire for continuous improvement and collaboration among educational institutions.

Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost of LUMS, attended the event and collected the award on behalf of the institution, marking notable improvement in the employer reputation category. Reflecting on LUMS’ achievement, he stated, “The recognition bestowed upon us by the esteemed QS International World Rankings is a source of profound pride for LUMS, accentuating our unwavering dedication to global academic excellence. In this year's assessment, we are honoured to have achieved the premier position among Pakistani universities for our employer reputation and the international diversity of our faculty." Dr. Jadoon emphasised that these accomplishments motivate LUMS to continually raise the bar for leadership through scholarship, research, and impact, aiming to provide world-class education and research opportunities in Pakistan.
