Ali Mukhtar
An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Mukhtar is the Founder and CEO of Fatima Ventures and General Partner at Fatima Gobi Ventures (FGV), a technology venture fund co-managed by Fatima Ventures and China headquartered Gobi Partners. FGV is fusing local expertise with VC know-how, investing intelligently, using data collated from the flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystems of Northeast and Southeast Asia.
Under Mr. Mukhtar's leadership, FGV has already invested in high growth companies including Airlift, Tajir and Sasta Ticket and will continue to support the most promising technology entrepreneurs in the country. Mr. Mukhtar also serves as a Director at Fatima Group, one of Pakistan’s leading conglomerates, where he advises the group on strategy and investments, and is a member of various global organisations including The Owners Forum.
Faisal Aftab
Mr. Aftab is equipped with over fifteen years of experience in investing, which includes his current role at Lakson Venture Capital (LVC), a Pakistan based Institutional VC Fund that invests in entrepreneurs and local businesses to build enterprises, taking innovative ideas to the next stage.
Mr. Aftab has vast experience and has served as the Executive Vice President at CloudStream, a Silicon Valley-based technology company backed by Intel Capital; Co-Founder and Executive Director of Indus TV and MTV Pakistan; Vice President, National Financial Partners, a New York-based financial services and wealth management firm; and a Management Consultant at Deloitte, where he advised asset management and investment banking firms.
Mr. Aftab is also a limited partner of 500 Startups, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund, and a Board Member of Pakistan based start-ups including Bookme.pk, MandiExpress.pk, KnowledgePlatform.com, Bagallery.com and Roomy.pk.
