About the Panellists
Mr. Shahid Abdulla is the principal and founding partner of Arshad Shahid Abdulla (Pvt.) Ltd. He was the Project Lead of the Pakistan Pavilion, the architect and brought other members on board.
Ms. Noorjehan Bilgrami is an artist, designer, researcher and educationist. She is the founding member of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, and its first Executive Director. Ms. Noorjehan curated all parts of the pavilion’s interior.
Mr. Rashid Rana is widely considered to be one of the leading artists of his generation in South Asia today. Notable for his conceptual innovation and dramatic visual strategies, Rashid Rana has exhibited extensively at various galleries and museums globally. His works are in various public and private collections including the British Museum London, Metropolitan Museum New York, Fukuoka Museum of Art, Japan and Saatchi Collection, London. He is the recipient of the prestigious Game Changer Asia Art Award, and was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan in 2022. Primarily known for his art practice, Rashid Rana in fact occupies multiple simultaneous profiles. He mediates between artist, curator, and educator with a common thread of an unfixed and non-prescriptive view of geography and identity. He is a founding faculty member and currently the Dean of the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore.
Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, LUMS Pro Chancellor, is the former advisor to the Prime Minister for Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production, and Investment of Pakistan. Mr. Dawood provided overall oversight and attracted the private sector to participate in the project.
