April 21, 2025 to April 22, 2025
The theme of this year’s conference, “Futures of International Law,” invites critical reflections on the contemporary international legal order, its legitimacy, and its responsiveness to ongoing and emerging global challenges.
Recent events, including Israel’s war against the people of Palestine, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, forced migration due to climate change, and the role of international economic institutions in perpetuating inequality, have raised pressing questions about the effectiveness, equity, and resilience of international law. Is international law still a tool for justice, or has it become a mechanism for maintaining global inequalities? Can it be reclaimed by those it has historically failed?
Through a diverse set of panels and keynote addresses, this conference aims to reimagine the structures and principles that should guide international law in the 21st century.

• The Legitimacy of International Law: Historical challenges and contemporary issues
• Structures and Practices of International Adjudication
