Canadian High Commission in Pakistan Holds Recruitment Session for LUMS Students
The Career Services Office (CSO) at LUMS organised an online campus drive for the Canadian High Commission in Pakistan for positions in its Islamabad office on September 21, 2020.
Ms. Valerie Vachon, Second Secretary and Vice Counsel, Canadian High Commission in Pakistan started the session by introducing herself and her colleague, Ms. Noorulain Ahmed, Human Resource Manager. She discussed the culture and values of the Canadian High Commission and highlighted that they respect democracy, encourage diversity and integrity, and freedom of opinion at the workplace as these are the core values of the organisation. She explained that the selected candidates will be provided training and development opportunities, good working conditions, workplace diversity and networking opportunities with fellow missions worldwide.
Talking about the positions, Ms. Vachon explained their benefits and shared why a person should join the Canadian High Commission. Furthermore, she explained the entire recruitment process step by step and shared tips along with the dos and don’ts for each step.
At the end of the session, Ms. Ahmed shared that this is the mission’s first national outreach programme for recruiting competent resources for opportunities based in its Pakistan office and encouraged the students to apply.
The session ended with a Question and Answer session.
