CSO Holds ‘Business Grad Schools’ Webinar
The Career Services Office (CSO) at LUMS held a Higher Education Webinar as a part of their Webinar Series on August 19, 2022, via Zoom. The theme was ‘Business Grad Schools’ and targeted current LUMS undergraduate students from classes of 2023 and 2024. The webinar was open to students of all disciplines, so students become aware that a different discipline can also be chosen as a post-grad degree to add diversity in their future careers.
The webinar was conducted and moderated by Iman Abid Khan, Assistant Manager, CSO. A team of panellists was carefully selected: graduates from the Suleman Dawood School of Business who had pursued diverse disciplines in their post-grad degrees. The panellists were Dr. Farid Ahmad (BSc Economics 2007), Mahnoor Shahid (BSc Management Science 2017) and Humna Shakeel (BSc Accounting and Finance 2018).
The webinar was a one-hour long session. The panellists started off with an introduction about themselves. The students then engaged in an icebreaking activity. The panellists also shared their candid experiences with the attendees to keep the session light-hearted while sharing their incredible journeys with real-life examples. Students were given an insight on the ‘when, how and what’ of applying for a Master’s degree. Specific examples were shared to give the students an understanding about the timelines and requirements for pursuing their higher education.
Towards the end, the panellists shared their respective email addresses and LinkedIn profiles to be contacted by the students for any remaining questions.
A feedback survey and a thank you email was circulated amongst the attendees post event.
