Fatima Group Conducts Recruitment Drive at LUMS
Fatima Group (FG) conducted a virtual recruitment drive for their “Cracking The Code - Empower to Lead Programme (E2L) 2021” on February 19, 2021, targeting students graduating in 2021 and 2022 from the BS Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and BA.LLB programmes.
The primary purpose of the session was to educate students on how they can successfully land their first job and increasing the success rate of applicants for the FG Empower to Lead Programme.
Mr. Junaid Asrar Khan, Talent Management Expert at Fatima Group, introduced himself, the recruitment team and gave a brief history of the organisation. He said that Fatima Group is the most progressive business conglomerate in Pakistan, equipped with a strong portfolio of products and services which extends to fertiliser, sugar, textile, commodities trading, mining and energy. “FG is an eminent player in the growth and sustainability of important industries of the country, and has made significant investments in large scale manufacturing plants, utilising state-of-the-art technology and promoting manufacturing excellence. They are also the official partner of Multan Sultans franchise of Pakistan Super League,” he said.
Mr. Khan then shared the details of the recruitment process with students, breaking down the steps. “The process is initiated with a presentation, followed by an initial test and interview. Candidates are then asked to visit the assessment centre, after which they go through a pre-onboarding process and then the final onboarding,” he explained.
He also added that the one-year long Management Trainee (MT) is a structured learning programme with two rotations of six months each. Whereas in case of Graduate Trainee (GT) programme, there is a 40 days training in office, stationed at the plant. After successful completion of the first year, the candidate is offered a permanent position.
He then invited two MTOs, also LUMS alumni, Ms. Saira Ghauri and Mr. Ijlal Zaka, to share their experiences at Fatima Group. They told the audience that Fatima Group is one of the best place to work in terms of learning, human development, employee engagement and respect. “The organisation religiously follows seven core values of Teamwork, Innovation, Integrity, Customer Focus, Valuing People, HSE & CSR, and Excellence,” they shared.
Later, Mr. Khan shared some tips with students on resume writing and interview skills. The drive was concluded with an interactive QnA session.
